Bruce Hemenway is the Training Specialist for
Oregon Association of Water Utilities. He has worked for OAWU since
October 1, 2006. He holds a grade III WTO certification with a
filtration endorsement with the State of Oregon. He was certified as a
water plant operator in 1972, Grade II with the State of California.
Since then he has worked in the field of water treatment and water
distribution. Most of his experience has been in a medium size
conventional water treatment plant.
For Mr.
Hemenway there are three aspects of being an employee of OAWU which he
enjoys. First, is the OAWU staff. He says, "you simply could not find a
better group of folks to work with anywhere." Second, is the diversity.
As the Training Specialist, his responsibilities include training,
traveling across the state, technical assistance and preparation and
research time. Third, meeting the folks in Oregon that are responsible
for keeping our water and wastewater systems functioning and in good
operating order. These people should give themselves a hand; he has
found them to be responsible and conscientious. The citizens of the
State of Oregon are in good hands, and he is proud to be a part of this
industry, because of all of them.
