Dear Friends of OAWU:

It is with sadness that we inform you of OAWU's Circuit Rider and Programs Manager, Jeff Swanson's passing into eternity to heaven, with his family at his side, the evening of July 4th, 2009 after battling esophagus cancer and other related conditions. Though grieving the loss of a husband and father, Jeff's dear family are comforted in knowing his eternal home is with his Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he had entrusted forgiveness, life and eternity with.

Would each of us consider, during a full and lengthy conversation, as Jeff would have it - My Life is quickly passing, my heart is tender - live life to the fullest but be right with God, for we know not when.  "Christ died for our sins according to  the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" I Corinthians 15:3,4

The character qualities and many gifts of Jeff Swanson will be greatly missed for he was intelligent, great of depth and breadth with many experiences here and abroad and was a wonderful and committed friend to many.  There are many who could share their own warm thoughts of Jeff. We remember family, church, outdoors, hunting, camping, skiing, hard working, the love of his work and those he worked with everywhere he went, a great speaker and story teller, a wonderful conversationalist, generous, honor, integrity, truth, compassion, responsibility, dedication, country, accountability, justice, humor and quick wit, sympathetic, if he wasn't where the action was- he was the action. His vast professional knowledge and abilities in the water industry were shared with many, many people over the years.  A great and gentle man who won our love, respect and admiration.  Please remember his family during these times.
